Why BuilderBuddy ?

Being in the construction industry as a sub-trade for over 4 decades, I saw front and center the changes brought on by the advances in information technology. Though not a techy myself, I knew that I needed to keep up with the competition in regards to efficiency in procedures, and having a proper construction management platform was key to this.

What I found on the market though was simply inappropriate for the needs of small contractors and sub-trade businesses.

I found that most construction management had some major issues:

1/ – Too complicated – Some systems were great for office staff who came from a higher educated background, but in the construction industry, most site personnel were only at a high school educational level. A construction management software system that addressed these educational disparities was needed. It had to be SIMPLE !

2/ – Too Expensive – Though larger construction companies would have the necessary capital to invest in the purchase of expensive software and the necessary employee training, the vast majority of companies were small or medium sized business which could not. It had to be AFFORDABLE!

3/ – Too many unnecessary bells and whistles – Most construction management software systems on the market had dozens if not hundreds of functions that simply were not going to be used by small and medium sized businesses. Why pay for a bunch of features you would never use? It had to be STREAMLINED!

In 2015, after relocating to The Philippines, and faced with my own fast growing construction business again, I began the task of shopping once more for construction management software to suit my business. One disappointment after another led me to the conclusion that just simply might be better if I designed my own system to work exactly how I needed it too. With the help of a talented IT staff and some great programmers, we did just that.

After more than 5 years of successful use, with may tweaks along the way, we ended up with a system that we believe solved all the issues mentioned above.
